Gabby Sherwood is a story teller, science communicator, and photographer. She is currently the communications associate at Rocky Mountain Conservancy in Estes Park, Colorado. Sherwood promotes stewardship of Rocky Mountain National Park through her writing, media production, and social media management. She is also editor of the Conservancy’s Quarterly Newsletter. One of Sherwood’s most critical focuses in her job is building and maintaining good relationships with staff in the National Park Service at Rocky Mountain National Park. We are stronger together when it comes to preserving the public lands we love most.
Sherwood graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts of journalism and environmental studies concentration. She has a passion for using her skills in digital media to bridge the educational gap between STEM and the public. While at Baylor, Sherwood gained experience in environmental outreach as an aquaponics research specialist at Urban REAP. She photographed hundreds of live events, athletics and campus activities as a student photographer for Baylor Marketing. During her last semester, Sherwood was a post-production intern at Northern Lights in New York City.
Sherwood’s vast portfolio of digital media includes photo stories, short-form videos, social media graphics, research papers and journalistic articles. Past work includes freelance photography for the Texas Tribune, articles for the Baylor Lariat and the Media Ethics Magazine, an independent short documentary exploring water quality issues and presenting her film at the Green Communities Conference.
